Dr. Martine Faure-Alderson studied medicine and osteopathy and graduated from the College of Osteopathy in London in 1968. She also holds diplomas in naturopathy, homeopathy, acupuncture and medical herbalist and has been practicing at her London based clinic for over 40 years

In 1967, while at the Osteopathic College, Dr. Faure-Alderson came across reflexology at a lecture by Doreen Bayly. She became Doreen Bayly’s student and later on traveled with her as her assistant throughout Europe.

Dr. Faure-Alderson set up the RTTFA School of Reflexology in Paris in 1974.
She is also the founder of Cranio-Sacral Reflexology (CSR) and in this groundbreaking work has taken Reflexology to a new level through the integration of Osteopathy, Cranio-Sacral Therapy and Reflexology. It took her many years to develop and teach what is known today as Cranio-Sacral Reflexology (CSR) and for which she developed three new protocols, Cranio Sacral, Cardiovascular and Lymphatic.

She founded the CSRI Academy of Excellence, the International Association of practitioners and teachers of CSR, in London in 2010. She lectures Cranio-Sacral Reflexology (CSR) all around the world.

Dr. Martine Faure-Alderson continues to develop new courses and protocols – Cranio-Sacral Hand Reflexology, Bones of the Face in Reflexology, Autonomic Nervous System, Hormonal System. Her latest developments are Reflexology of the Brain (four new protocols), Whiplash, Pregnant Women and Baby.

In 2006, her first book – Total Reflexology (Feet) – was published and has been translated in English, French and German. Her next book Total Reflexology (Hand) was published in 2014 in French and in 2016 in English. In 2018 her book on The Brain was published in French.

She has spoken at Reflexology conferences in various countries across the world, (latest RAA at Santa Fe in 2014, RiEN at Brussels in 2016, RAC at Montreal in 2017)

Special interest in children’s welfare – Established the Faure-Alderson Romanian appeal in 1990 for humanitarian work with orphans. In 1999 and 2000 she was nominated European Women of the year for her work with the children of Romania.

Overseer of a world-wide research project on the effect of reflexology on cancer patients in hospitals. In 2007 she was awarded the Crystal Globe for ‘Research Work’ at the ICR conference in Cairns, Australia.

In 2014 she was awarded Honorary Lifetime Membership of the Association of Reflexology.

In 2018 she was inducted into the ICR Hall of Fame
